NICA UTAP

The National Instructors & Coaches Association (NICA) was established by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) to serve as a collective voice advocating for freelance coaches and instructors from sports, outdoor learning and adventure, visual and performing arts, fitness and wellness, as well as enrichment programs. Its goal is to strengthen skills, uphold high standards and create more opportunities within these fields.

As part of its commitment to professional development, NICA supports its members through skill-enhancement initiatives, such as those provided by Korfball Singapore. Members can benefit from the Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) which provides 50% subsidy of the balance unfunded course fee, up to $250 per calendar year.

In addition, until 31 December 2025, members aged 40 years and above can enjoy increased funding support of up to $500 per calendar year (capped at 50% of the unfunded course fees).
